PPCBank Presents Newly Constructed Sanitary Facilities to Chambakkhangcheung Primary School

The new facilities were officially inaugurated on September 26, with the ceremony presided over by H.E. Sum Sannisith, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, on behalf of H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia and Chairperson of the Board of Raksa Koma Organization.

The ceremony was attended by PPCBank President Mr. Lee Jin Young, Executive Vice President Mr. Lee Jinkyu and Raksa Koma Organization General Manager Mr. Soeung Phyry, along with education officials, teachers, students and representatives of the two organisations.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, H.E. Sum Sannisith highlighted that the new facility consists of seven compartments and has been designed to provide a safer and inclusive environment for students. The facility includes accessibility features such as ramps, wide doors and grabs bars for students with disabilities. It also provides separate facilities for male and female students, with secure locks and fully enclosed walls to ensure privacy.

For PPCBank, the initiative forms part of a broader commitment to education and the role it plays in Cambodia’s long-term development.

The Bank’s involvement in the project reflects the view that the quality of a child’s learning environment extends beyond classrooms and teaching resources. Access to basic facilities such as safe and appropriate sanitation can affect students’ comfort, dignity and ability to concentrate on their studies.

“Supporting proper sanitation is about much more than providing infrastructure. It is an investment in the health, safety, dignity and future of children, particularly in communities where access to adequate facilities remains limited,” Mr. Lee Jin Young emphasized.

“We are pleased to work with Raksa Koma Organization and other stakeholders to help improve the learning environment for the students of Chambakkhangcheung Primary School. We hope these facilities will serve the school community for many years and contribute to the well-being of the children who use them every day,” he added.

The partnership reflects PPCBank’s belief that every child should have the opportunity to learn and grow without barriers related to health or basic hygiene. By improving school facilities, the Bank aims to help create an environment where students can focus on their education and reach their full potential.

The school’s administrators also expressed their appreciation to PPCBank, Raksa Koma and other stakeholders involved, saying the new facilities would provide students with a more suitable and comfortable school environment.

For the students, the impact of the project is straightforward: better access to essential facilities during the school day. For the organisations behind it, however, the initiative represents a wider investment in the conditions that enable children to participate fully in education.
