Senior Officer, Native Developer

  • Location: Phnom Penh, Head Office
  • No. of hiring: 3 Positions
  • Deadline: August 31, 2026
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Native Mobile Unit and provide technical direction, architecture review, code review, and mentoring for the Android and iOS developers.

  • Take end-to-end technical ownership of PPCBank Android applications using Kotlin and iOS applications using Swift, including architecture, lifecycle, security, build, release, and production support.

  • Design and review hybrid or partial-native architecture, including WebView integration, JavaScript bridges, native plugins, and communication between native applications, web-based content, and backend APIs.

  • Lead optimization of cold-start and warm-start time, memory usage, WebView performance, large assets, network handling, application responsiveness, crash rates, and Android ANRs.

  • Design and improve dynamic content download and update mechanisms, including packaging, caching, resumable downloads, integrity validation, atomic installation, version compatibility, failure recovery, and rollback.

  • Ensure application stability under slow, unstable, or overseas network conditions and recover safely from interrupted downloads, application restarts, incomplete packages, and failures after content updates.

  • Govern compatibility and release sequencing across Android and iOS application versions, web content packages, backend APIs, and third-party SDKs, including backward compatibility, staged rollout, hotfix, and rollback.

  • Manage Android and iOS build configurations, signing, certificates, provisioning, CI/CD, and releases through Google Play, Apple App Store, and Huawei AppGallery where applicable.

  • Investigate production incidents using application logs, crash reports, Firebase Crashlytics, Android profiling tools, Xcode Instruments, and other monitoring tools; lead root-cause analysis and preventive improvement.

  • Establish and enforce native development standards for architecture, coding, security, testing, branching, versioning, documentation, deployment approval, and release governance.

  • Review vendor-developed source code, technical documents, and test evidence; conduct code-level technical discussions and verify claimed performance or stability improvements with objective results.

  • Coordinate with frontend, backend, QA, infrastructure, security, business, and vendor teams, and support platform-specific automated testing and Appium-based end-to-end testing.

  • Maintain current technical documentation for native architecture, modules, interfaces, dependencies, build configurations, release procedures, troubleshooting, and operational recovery.

Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent professional qualification.

  • At least five years of professional mobile application development experience, with proven hands-on commercial experience in both Android using Kotlin and iOS using Swift.

  • Deep technical expertise in at least one native platform and sufficient capability in the other platform to review source code, evaluate architecture, manage builds and releases, and troubleshoot production issues.

  • Proven experience leading or mentoring native mobile developers, conducting code reviews, establishing technical standards, and leading technical discussions.

  • Proven experience developing, releasing, and maintaining production applications on both Android and iOS, with a clear explanation of the candidate’s personal contribution.

  • Strong understanding of Android and iOS application lifecycle, state management, background processing, asynchronous execution, memory management, networking, local storage, and error handling.

  • Strong experience with hybrid or partial-native applications, including WebView, JavaScript bridges, native plugins, and native-to-web interfacing.

  • Hands-on experience with content downloading and updating, caching, resumable transfer, integrity validation, atomic file replacement, version compatibility, failure recovery, and rollback.

  • Experience optimizing application startup time, memory usage, WebView performance, large assets, network behavior, crashes, and ANRs under slow or unstable network conditions.

  • Experience managing App Store and Google Play releases, certificates, signing, provisioning, Gradle and Xcode build configurations, CI/CD, staged deployment, hotfix, and rollback. Huawei AppGallery experience is an advantage.

  • Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, Git, automated testing, crash monitoring, mobile application security, secure storage, encryption, and third-party SDK integration.

  • Proven ability to lead production incident analysis, root-cause identification, corrective actions, preventive actions, and technical reporting.

  • Experience in mobile banking, fintech, payments, wallets, or other security-sensitive applications is strongly preferred.

  • Good spoken and written English, with the ability to communicate effectively with management, internal teams, and external vendors.

  • Flutter or React Native experience is an advantage, but cross-platform experience alone does not replace actual Kotlin/Android and Swift/iOS native development experience.
